Hello! I'm Alison Renae Silvey.
I am a spinner of spooky tales, weaving short stories, novellas and an occasional novel. My writing ranges from quiet, supernatural horror, to fierce fairies, and blood-soaked antagonists.
I grew up in Louisiana, where everything is
haunted. I now live in Massachusetts, where everything is haunted or cursed.

What i do
I write tales of horror when my cat overlord permits me to.

My Titles
Called “spooky fun” and “good scares” my latest collection
are encounters with the unexpected, the strange, and the
mythical. Where some souls vanish in to voids governed by
unseen forces. A vintage apartment building has its own
ideas for renovations. A junk removal company hauls away
more than bargained for. Artificial intelligence struggles to
live with humans. In these pages, social issues such as
gentrification, hate, and unwanted change are tackled
quirky tales and twists.
In my children’s cautionary tale, Santa did not come for Mo
and her younger brother, Jacoby during the sleeping hours
of Christmas Eve. Instead they are visited by a beast of old
wintertime folklore. Mo and Jacoby, along with the neighbor
nicknamed Ivan the Terrible, are swept away to a land of
perpetual snowstorms, monstrous reindeer and grungy
bread men. Rotten treats await rotten children.
Okay , so this is not horror, but features an adult,
workaholic Alice falling into a world with an
underground resistance, talking animals, a towering
monarch, delinquent twins, and of course, a
grinning cat.
